Hi folks!

As always, thanks for taking the time to visit and read my blog. It means so much to me to know that there are folks literally on the other side of the planet who tune in and now then to see what I’m on about. Thank you for your time! I love checking in to your blogs and seeing what you are up to as well!

You might have noticed two new pages at the top of the site – these are the first chapters of the first two books that I’ve written. They are high-fantasy novels with some dark fantasy and crime thriller flourishes. Please check them out! And if you have any feedback, I’d love to hear it in the comments at the bottom. What did you like or not like? Am I entertaining? Am I wasting my life? Whatever you think, I want to know!

I’m working on other changes to my blog to make it more like what the Cool Kids are doing these days. I want to make it more sleek and user-friendly, with more pictures and helpful links and whatnot. If you have any feedback, let me know!

Check back soon! I’ve got some great upcoming blog posts, including:

  • My Violin and I – An Idiot’s Tale
  • Apples and Oranges – 19th Century New York as depicted in the BBC TV show Copper and the Animated Family Cartoon, An American Tale
  • The Big ‘Let Me Show You Around!’ Post

Be seeing ya!

Best regards on working on your blog! It looks fine to me, but I’m sure whatever you do will be cool. Because you’re cool!

Thanks! I just see other people doing other cool things and wonder what I could be doing differently. We’ll see!

What’s Watchpunk? Is that like The Watchmaker of Filigree Street?

    • jennnanigans February 26, 2016 at 8:28 am #

Wow – I would SWEAR I read some blogs that talked about watchpunk as a fantasy subgenre – basically it focuses on the Watch of a fantasy realm.
I thought it was an interesting idea to explore given the current state of policing in the U.S.. I got REALLY into the show The Wire and how it showed both sides of the problem- how the line between ‘soldier’ and ‘civilian’ must remain VERY clear. I thought it would be neat to set those conflicts in a fantasy novel.
And then I found out Terry Pratchett had already done it in the Discworld books LOL.
I just looked up the Watchmaker of Filigree Street – looks like an interesting read!
      And thanks for the comment!

Jenna I started reading Wilderness but right now my concentration is at the bottom of the barrel. So I will have a better look later. At first glance, you may need some edits – Question: is the white-tiled floor just covered with ferns, mushrooms etc? Or have they crept through broken cracks?

    • jennnanigans February 26, 2016 at 8:21 am #

Hi Joanna! Thanks for reading – heh, don’t worry about it, it’ll still be here!
It’s more that the mushrooms have taken root in the heaps of earth – leaves blown in through the centuries have broken down and formed dirt. But I didn’t see it as intrinsic to the plot, just more about setting the scene.
Thank you for the comment though! I look forward to more of your thoughts!

I read every detail, to see the structure etc. that’s me, details. it’s the details which make the whole. you might want to check that paragraph, repetitive use of the word ‘colony’

      • jennnanigans February 26, 2016 at 9:37 am #

Thanks! I will add it to my list of things to fix in the revision! 🙂

      • joanna February 26, 2016 at 9:38 am #

actually I had re-written the paragraph in my head – god, I’m annoying 🙂

      • jennnanigans February 26, 2016 at 9:45 am #

Lol! Nothing wrong with enthusiasm! 😀
